I'm Manisha Sinha โ born in Guwahati, roots in Tripura, where textiles aren't just fabric. They're stories passed down through generations, woven by hand into every thread. I grew up watching my grandmother drape the most beautiful handloom mekhela chadors โ each one a piece of art.
That love for craft followed me to Delhi, where I studied at SRCC โ one of India's top colleges. I threw myself into everything, topped my state exams, built a career. But when my own pregnancy arrived, something broke. The maternity clothes I found were either clinical white, shapeless black, or covered in cutesy prints I'd never wear.
Where was the soul? The earthy warmth? The kind of clothing that celebrates the woman โ not just the bump? So I started sketching on the back of my pregnancy journal, pulling from the craft traditions I grew up with. Maya was born a few months before my baby was.
Maya exists because we believe pregnancy is not a condition โ it's a celebration. You shouldn't have to choose between comfort and style, or between sustainability and affordability.
Every piece we create is designed to grow with you โ through your first trimester, your baby shower, your nursing days, and beyond. We work with natural fabrics, traditional artisans, and age-old techniques to bring you clothing that feels as good as it looks.
We're not just a maternity brand. We're a love letter to the free-spirited mama who refuses to blend in.
"I didn't want to just dress the bump. I wanted to dress the woman โ her spirit, her fire, her wild, beautiful self."
