At Maya, sustainability isn't a marketing checkbox. It's woven into every decision we make โ from the fibers we choose to the artisans we partner with, from the dyes that colour our fabrics to the packaging that arrives at your door.
We believe that bringing new life into the world shouldn't come at the cost of the planet that life will inherit. Every Maya piece is our small promise to the future.
We use exclusively natural fibers โ GOTS-certified organic cotton, handwoven linen from Gujarat, and Chanderi silk from Madhya Pradesh. No polyester, no synthetic blends, no microplastic shedding. Just fabrics that breathe with you and return to the earth.
We work directly with women-led artisan cooperatives in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and West Bengal. Block printing, hand embroidery, natural dyeing โ traditional techniques passed down through generations, now sustaining livelihoods and keeping heritage alive.
Your Maya order arrives in a recycled kraft box, wrapped in muslin cloth (reusable as a baby burp cloth!). Seed paper tags you can plant. Soy-based inks. Zero plastic, zero waste, zero guilt.
We produce in small batches of 50โ100 pieces per design. This means less overproduction, less waste, and more care in every stitch. Our zero-waste cutting patterns ensure fabric scraps become accessories or stuffing for baby toys.
